We are CHARGEO, a luxury fashion house born in South Africa and founded in 2021. We make leather backpacks, belts, one loafer and one sneaker, each made to order in South Africa. CHARGEO leather comes in four kinds, all sourced here: full-grain bovine, ostrich, crocodile belly and Nguni hide. Most of our backpacks carry the names of South African places, and the Zulu Treasure Collection, in Nguni hide, is the signature of the house.

We are a luxury fashion house, born in South Africa, and leather is where we begin. Backpacks, belts and shoes come first. Over time the house will reach further into fashion.
Some of the people who commission from us are making their first serious luxury purchase. Others already own fine things and choose rarely. Either way, the piece is made after you commission it, because we make every piece to order.
Pieces named for South African places
Most of our leather backpacks are named after South African cities and suburbs, and most of our belts after places in Africa.
- Backpacks for men include the Sandton Leather Backpack, uMhlanga Leather Backpack, Stellenbosch Leather Backpack, Westville Leather Backpack and Hyde Park Leather Backpack.
- Backpacks for women: the Pretoria Leather Backpack, Fourways Leather Backpack, Bryanston Leather Backpack, Constantia Leather Backpack, Morningside Leather Backpack and Waterfall Leather Backpack.
- Belts include the Kalahari Full Grain Leather Belt, Serengeti Ostrich Leg Belt, Zambezi Full Grain Leather Belt, Kruger Ostrich Hide Belt and Savuti Sartorial Suede & Smooth Leather Belt, with the African Dawn Leather Belt and the African Sunset Leather Belt.
- The Zulu Treasure Collection holds leather backpacks, belts and a sneaker in Nguni hide. Its name honours the cattle that counted as wealth in the Zulu Kingdom.

The Sahara Crocodile-Embossed Leather Belt is embossed cowhide, and its name says so.
How a commission reaches you
We make every piece to order in South Africa. It usually takes 30 days, and up to three months when the order book is full.
- Each piece arrives in a gift box with a silk dust bag and a card. See our packaging.
- Delivery is free in South Africa. We send by FedEx to more than 60 countries.
- We invoice in rand, pounds, euros and US dollars.
- Our guarantee covers stitching and thread for three years and the hide for five.
- We repair the pieces we make. We do not repair other makes.
Pieces for companies and institutions
We make corporate gifts from five pieces, with your logo debossed, foil embossed or laser engraved once you approve a digital proof.
The Durban University of Technology IT department commissioned 25 pieces from us. SEDFA, the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency, commissioned 50 for one department. An order of up to 50 pieces takes two months from approval.

Why are the backpacks named after places?
Most of our backpacks carry the name of a South African city or suburb, such as Sandton, uMhlanga, Constantia or Stellenbosch. The Zulu Treasure pieces are named for Nguni cattle and the wealth they stood for.
How long does a commission take?
Usually 30 days, and up to three months when the order book is full. For Christmas, order by 1 November.
